Spanish Town Planning Monument to the Liver

FERROL, Spain —
Townspeople of Ferrol in northwestern Spain are seeking donations to erect a monument to the human liver, organizers said Friday.
They said the idea was sparked by a conference given by the town’s mayor, Jaime Quintanilla, a physician who said the liver is one of the most ill-treated of human organs and deserves a shrine in its honor.
