More Dialogue

What a wonderful article on the dialogue groups. Kathleen Hendrix really handled this controversial subject sensitively--just the right composite of information and color.

The concept of dialogue is, in itself, enough to scare many people. I had been asked by Susan Weissman to be a part of the group at Leo Baeck at its inception, but I learned from a previous experience that I could not take part in this process. I believe in it, I support it and I wanted it to be successful, but I somehow hurt too much to participate. I compensated by pestering my friends to try it and later to continue it as my contribution to the group.

I also believe that the fruits of dialogue may never be seen in our generation. These brave and patient people are partaking in an historical process and if we persist, our children’s lives will benefit from our steadfastness.
