ON THE TOWN: Who are the Eyetalian Sportscars and why do they dress like they’re going to a Hell’s Angels’ reunion? We’re not sure we know--or care. But if you’re in the mood for a chaotic jam session, make time for the Sportscars, a floating contingent culled from the Little Kings and other local rock noisemakers who’ve been making their home each Monday night at the Coconut Teaszer. Last week’s show featured a bedraggled ensemble that looked trashier than the Texas Gulf Coast, including a lead singer whose morning coat had the moniker “Nick Ferrari” written in glitter on the back and a bassist with a sleeveless T-shirt and lots of tattoos. It hardly mattered that the singer could never get his Flying V guitar in tune, since the band’s repertoire of frat-rock classics like “Rumble,” “Fever” and “Just a Little Bit” had an unsavory charm that could survive any amount of off-key thrashing. . . . Meanwhile, the Dancing Hoods (who’ll be at the Club Lingerie Monday night) are the latest band being courted by several record labels. Though the transplanted New York rockers are still signed to Relativity Records, they’ve won a host of new admirers, including top A&R; execs from MCA and Atlantic Records. . . . And Dave Marsh, who has emerged in recent years as Boswell to the Boss, will be in town Saturday at 8 p.m. for an organizational meeting and publication party for his new Bruce Springsteen biography, “Glory Days.” Co-sponsored by the American Labor Relief Board, Los Angeles Union of the Homeless, Midnight Special Bookstore and others, the get-together will be held at Theateria in Venice and will also feature appearances by Cheech Marin, Ruben Guevara and Con Safos. Admission is $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
