Military and civilian authorities began an investigation into the accidental dropping of a Soviet rocket that killed one man and injured two others in the village of Wilkocin in southwestern Poland. Roman Catholic Church sources said Soviet and Polish troops cordoned off farmhouses damaged by the rocket and were clearing the area. Father Jan Skiba, a Catholic priest, said the rocket fell from a Soviet fighter plane Monday while it was executing flight maneuvers. Wilkocin is 18 miles from Legnica, headquarters for Soviet troops stationed in Poland.
