Three senior South Korean police commanders were arrested for allegedly covering up information on the Jan. 14 torture death of student Park Chong Chul, officials said. Gen. Park Cho, a deputy National Police chief, and two lower-ranking commanders were accused of trying to conceal how many officers were involved in the killing. Meanwhile, three junior officers arrested last week for the slaying were formally indicted. Amid a national furor over the case, President Chun Doo Hwan earlier this week dismissed the prime minister and seven other key ministers.
