The Soviet Union has completed a partial withdrawal of its troops from Mongolia, the official Tass news agency reported. Tass did not say how many Soviet soldiers were withdrawn or how many remain in the mountainous Communist nation of about 2 million people, situated between the Soviet Union and China. The Soviet military presence in Mongolia has been a major area of dispute between China and the Soviet Union since the 1960s.
