Lee Hamilton Provides Chargers’ With New Play-by-Play Voice

The Chargers have a new voice to go with their new spot on the radio dial. This season, Lee Hamilton will call the Chargers’ play-by-play on XTRA-AM, the radio station replacing KLZZ-AM for game coverage.

Hamilton leaves KTAR-AM in Phoenix where, for the past six years, he has provided color commentary for the Arizona State football team and hosted a nightly sports-talk show. He has called play-by-play for Ohio University football, Akron University football and the Cleveland Crusaders of the World Hockey Assn.

XTRA begins its first season of a five-year contract with the Chargers on Aug. 15, when the team faces the Dallas Cowboys in an exhibition home game. Hamilton will be joined in the booth by Charger business manager and color commentator Pat Curran.
