Nigeria Asks Yellow Fever Aid

LAGOS, Nigeria —
Nigeria today requested international help to battle yellow fever and announced that the death toll in the latest outbreak had reached 331.
Health Minister Koye Ransome-Kuti said the government hopes to vaccinate everybody in six western states, including Lagos, with a combined population of about 30 million. He requested assistance with equipment and insecticides to start aerial and land spraying against the mosquitoes which transmit the disease.
