William Kayden; Acclaimed TV Producer

William Kayden, producer of such acclaimed television specials as “Missing Children: A Mother’s Story,” “I Heard the Owl Call My Name,” “To Race the Wind” and “Daughter of the Mind,” has died.

Kayden, whose most recent production was “Nazi Hunter: The Beate Klarsfeld Story,” was 64. He was stricken Saturday on a tennis court and rushed to a Beverly Hills hospital, where he was pronounced dead of an apparent heart attack.

In addition to his films for television, Kayden produced four Academy Awards shows for television and four Emmy programs.

Survivors include three sons, a sister and a grandson. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Hillside Memorial Park, Los Angeles.
