Fox kicked four penalties, a drop goal and a conversion for 17 points. Flanker Michael Jones, captain David Kirk and winger John Kirwan all scored tries for New Zealand in the second half.

France’s points came on a late try to scrum half Pierre Berbizier and a penalty and conversion by wing Didier Camberabero.
