Domestic auto sales declined 11.3% in mid-June.

The eight manufacturers with American assembly operations said they sold a combined total of 223,376 cars during the 10-day selling period, down from 251,920 during the same period a year ago. Analysts were encouraged, however, noting that the seasonally adjusted annual selling rate of 7.3 million units was up from 6.9 million in early June and from 6.8 million during May.
