Big Catfish Caught in Southland Lakes and Reservoirs

Southland lakes and reservoirs continue to yield big catfish, with Lake Irvine still the hottest of the hot spots.

A week after producing a new state-record blue catfish--59 pounds 4 ounces--Irvine gave up a 39-pound channel catfish to Ron Schoonover of Rosemead, and a 24 1/2-pound cat to Greg Jordan of Bellflower.
