Patterson Extends Lead to 67 Miles in Race Across America

Casey Patterson of Topanga, Calif., extended her lead in the women’s division Saturday, the seventh day of the 3,117-mile Race Across America bicycle race.

Patterson, who started the day 36 miles ahead of Cheryl Marek of Seattle, pulled ahead by 67 miles as she passed through Kansas City.

The men’s leader is Michael Secrest of Flint, Mich. He had a 23-mile lead over Michael Trail of Colville, Wash., as he passed through Indianapolis.
