The Soviet Union allowed 790 Jews to emigrate in June, the Vienna-based Intergovernmental Committee for Migration said. Of the total, 121 went to Israel, while the others chose to settle in the United States and other countries. The June count brought the six-month total of Soviet Jewish emigres to 3,092--more than were allowed to leave in any of the previous five years. This year’s monthly average of 515 is five to six times higher than the monthly averages in 1981 through 1986, the resettlement agency said. Jewish emigration reached a low of 904 in 1984.
