Friedan and Abortion

I know of many women (myself included) who were fully aware and informed when we made the decision to have an abortion. We did not regret our choice, yet we were thankful we could do so, legally. Must we be reminded of the many illegal abortions and the deaths incurred, just for the simple reason that a woman wanted full responsibility for her own body?
