Protestant Workers Strike

BELFAST, Northern Ireland —
Thousands of Protestant workers, angered by the removal of British flags from the Short Brothers aircraft firm, Northern Ireland’s largest manufacturing firm, walked off the job today. The walkout came amid mounting tension caused by the Protestant “marching season,” a celebration of the Protestants’ victory over Roman Catholics in Northern Ireland 297 years ago.
