Heat Wave Moves Fast in Kansas

GREENSBURG, Kan. —
For reasons unknown even to weather experts, the temperature at Greensburg jumped 20 degrees in 10 minutes this morning. In a phenomenon most people will never witness, the temperature jumped from 75 degrees at 7:30 a.m. to 95 degrees by about 7:40 a.m., said Bill Ellis, a volunteer observer for the National Weather Service.
