Steve Reynolds remained in critical condition in Indianapolis Methodist Hospital after suffering a fractured skull, a dislocated left elbow and a broken toe after his boat overturned in a hydroplane race at Madison, Ind., Sunday. Richards said Reynolds remained unconscious Monday and was on a ventilator to assist his breathing, but that his brain was responding to monitoring equipment.
