Romania Jetliner’s Door Bursts Open; No One Hurt

STOCKHOLM —
A TU-154 jet of the Romanian airline Tarom, with 171 people aboard, turned back and made an emergency landing here Saturday after a door burst open at 1,800 feet shortly after takeoff.
The Swedish news agency TT quoted passengers as saying that the door of the Soviet-built plane broke open “with the sound of a bullet,” that luggage was sucked through the opening and that Swedish travel guide Carina Jirsen and a Romanian hostess scrambled away from the open door to avoid falling out.
