Hospital Corp. of America income fell in the second quarter compared to a year ago despite a 4% increase in revenue, which was the result of the Nashville company’s divestitures of 13 hospitals and its health insurance activities during 1986. Adjusting for these divestitures, HCA’s second-quarter and six-month revenue increased 9%. Net for the second quarter was $61.3 million, compared to $61.87 million a year ago. The HCA psychiatric unit and its general hospital outpatient services showed strong revenue growth during the second quarter, the company said.
