Derrick Fenner, former North Carolina tailback who faces murder charges in connection with a drug-related slaying in May, has been released from jail on $100,000 bond, his attorney said.
Fenner, who will go to trial Oct. 26, is charged in the shooting death of 19-year-old Marcellus Leach on May 23 in Hyattsville, Md.
Fenner also faces drug and handgun charges stemming from an unrelated incident in April. He could get two life sentences plus 47 years and $27,500 in fines if convicted.
