RIVERS FINDS A NICHE IN ‘SQUARES’

Joan Rivers, recently ousted for being a square peg in a round hole as host of Fox Broadcasting Co.’s “Late Show,” has a new job as the permanent “center square” of Orion Television’s syndicated “Hollywood Squares.”

The show launches its second season Sept. 14. “The center square has traditionally been a catalyst for much of the show’s interaction,” said Orion Television president Scott Towle. “It requires an exceptional personality. She’s perfect for the job.”
