Police went on a rampage in the Pakistani port city of Karachi after rioters fatally shot two officers and stabbed four others in anti-government protests, witnesses said. They said a group of infuriated policemen seized firearms at a police station, rushed to the riot area and opened fire indiscriminately, wounding at least 20 people, including two children. The violence came on the fourth day of riots that erupted after two car bombs killed 73 people in Karachi last week. Protests against the bombings first turned into ethnic clashes and later into anti-government riots after police arrested scores of people.
