The Air Force, after suffering an unexpected setback in its latest test of the new Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile, has temporarily suspended testing of the missile. The Air Force, in a statement, said an AMRAAM went out of control during a July 17 test flight at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., prompting the end to testing. The move comes two weeks after the Pentagon authorized the Air Force to begin low-rate production of the missile.
