Leftist guerrillas destroyed a second Pan American Highway bridge in two days, military and civilian sources in El Salvador said. The sources said the San Jacinto Bridge, 47 miles northwest of the capital, was blown up. That part of the highway provides the major link between El Salvador and Guatemala. On Friday, rebels dynamited a Pan American Highway bridge in San Vicente province, almost isolating the eastern part of the country. The rebels have been waging a war against the U.S.-backed government since 1979.
