FAINT HOPES

For the people who have profit shares in Disney’s “Ruthless People,” they may avoid the poor house yet!

As Outtakes reported last week, the $17-million film is just 11 mil away from breaking even, despite amassing a worldwide gross of $90 mil. We’ve learned those figures (as per March 31) reflect bucks earned in such countries as England, France, Australia, Japan, South Africa, Brazil as well as the United States.

But--according to the June financial statement on the film--there are still a few precincts to be heard from . . . namely Ecuador, Colombia, Hungary, East Africa and Panama.
