U.S. Faces Canadians in Volleyball Tonight
The U.S. men’s volleyball team will tune up for the Pan Am Games with an exhibition against the Canadian team tonight at 7:30 at Pepperdine’s Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu.
Marv Dunphy, coach of the U.S. team who is on a three-year leave from Pepperdine, will be making his first coaching appearance on campus since leading the school to the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. title in 1985.
Among the U.S. competitors will be 1984 Olympians Craig Buck, formerly of Pepperdine, Dave Saunders, formerly of UCLA, and Steve Timmons, formerly of USC.
