In a surprise move, George Schweitzer, CBS’ chief corporate spokesman, said Tuesday that he will leave the company in several weeks to join Young & Rubicam Inc., a major New York communications company. Schweitzer, who has been at CBS for 15 years and its vice president for communications since 1982, said his departure was not due to any disputes with his bosses, including CBS Inc. president Laurence A. Tisch. “I’m going to miss all the panic,” joked Schweitzer, who had survived much-publicized corporate shakeups that included the ouster last fall of CBS board chairman Thomas H. Wyman. Schweitzer had also headed the consolidation of CBS press departments in late 1986 and this year. He said his replacement had not been chosen yet.
