Pandering

Share

Never have I been more concerned for our country’s state of affairs. Where are our values?

We have a President declaring that no law has been broken in the Iran- contra affair. Wall Street abounds with scandal and also deep in deception are certain religious leaders. Random freeway shootings, robbery, rape, murder are all too common-place in our country today.

Doesn’t our Police Department have enough work to do without setting up a woman, Norma Jean Almodovar, on a charge (Part I, Aug. 1) of pandering? And will society be in danger if she is free?

I am really outraged that Almodovar must face such severe punishment (a three-year prison term) and danger to her life where serious crime abounds. Why are the Police Department and court system spending precious time and taxpayers’ money on this minor victimless incident?
