CORPUS CHRISTI, Tex. —
A jeweler who had already been robbed five times this year decided enough was enough and chased down and beat a man who stole his wife’s wallet from their store.
Police said Sam Salem, owner of Salem’s Jewelers, chased the theft suspect for two miles before cornering him in the yard of a house.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound jeweler then began beating the 190-pound suspect.
Authorities said the suspect had taken Salem’s wife’s wallet from her purse at the jewelry store. He was jailed pending formal charges.
