Designer Calvin Klein and Barry K. Schwartz, co-founders of Calvin Klein Industries, said they increased their holdings of common stock in Minnetonka Corp. to about 9.2% of outstanding shares from the 6.7% held since February, 1986. Minnetonka is a holding company for Minnetonka Inc., which packages and markets fragrances and toiletries under the Calvin and Obsession names for Calvin Klein. It also produces Claire Burke fragrances and Softsoap liquid soap. In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, the two men said the purchase was for investment purposes but that they, along with other persons, might at some point decide to seek control of Minnetonka.
