ODD COUPLING

Madonna and Henry Kissinger as . . . an item?

The producers of a proposed adult cable series have put in a casting call in Drama-Logue seeking a Kissinger-type (i.e., early 60s, commanding, self-doubting, ironic) to play opposite a Madonna-type (early 20s, smart, emotional and, of course, vulnerable).

Boasted producer Barry Dantzscher, this is all for a pilot for “a new genre of TV comedy” for the pay-TV and cassette market. He characterized the series as “something like the mating rituals of the rich and famous. . . . It’s all about how pop culture and political power come together in this age.”

Commercial TV won’t touch this stuff, he told us.

No argument there. Dantzscher said that after this initial show, other luminaries may find their likenesses trysting on the tube.
