Hawaiian Gardens : Willie Postpones Walk

“Walkin’ Willie” Croker of Hawaiian Gardens--who completed a 2,762-mile walk to Washington D.C., in July to promote cancer awareness--has postponed a September walk to Sacramento until next year because of foot problems.

In the meantime, he says he will continue his efforts to raise money for the Cancer Awareness Foundation Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Hawaiian Gardens. Croker says he hopes to start a Cancer Awareness hotline and provide breast cancer examinations to residents for free.
