Favored Infinidad Two-Length Winner in Del Mar Feature

Favored Infinidad, ridden by Corey Black, took the lead at the top of the stretch and won the $106,650 Chula Vista Handicap by two lengths Wednesday at Del Mar.

Margaret Booth, ridden by Laffit Pincay, finished second, 2 lengths in front of Le L’Argent, ridden by Darrel McHargue, in a field of nine fillies and mares.

Infinidad, a 5-year-old mare trained by Charlie Whittingham, raced 1 1/16 miles in 1:41 2/5 and earned $63,540.

Sent off at 6-5, Infinidad paid $4.40, $3.60 and $3. Margaret Booth returned $4 and $3.80. Le L’Argent paid $5 to show.

Carrying 118 pounds, Infinidad moved up quickly on the far turn, came into the stretch four-wide to take command and draw clear.
