A pilot who was trying to shut the door of a plane in flight was sucked out of the craft and had to cling to the door while a co-pilot made an emergency landing, authorities in Portland, Me., said. The Bar Harbor Airlines plane had just taken off when pilot Henry Dempsey noticed a door ajar, Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Susan Coulter said. “It’s a mystery to us how he ended up where he ended up, but apparently he somehow or other ended up outside the plane,” Coulter said. The pilot was treated for a cut hand.
