SEEING DOUBLE: Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band at the Lingerie? Well, no. But the Boss’ music and persona will be on view tonight at the Hollywood club, as Sammy Atlantic & the Jersey Allstars makes its West Coast debut.

Atlantic--he won’t divulge his real name, though he notes that his stage name is derived from Atlantic City, N.J.--has been impersonating Springsteen since 1985 in clubs and amusement parks on the East Coast.

“I do everything in my show that Bruce does,” says Atlantic, a 27-year-old Philadelphia native. “If Bruce got sick one night or lost his voice and they gave me a call, I could do the show for him.”

Atlantic added that he and his band perform songs from all phases of Springsteen’s career. “I pretty much resemble the Bruce of 1975, with hair on his face and the leather jacket.

“I suppose if I’m still doing this in about 12 years,” he added with a laugh, “I’ll look like he does now.”

Atlantic said the popularity of L.A.’s Boss Club (“It’s like the Bruce church,” he said) is one of the main reasons he decided to move to Los Angeles. He added that he eventually hopes to introduce some of his own music into the show.

Atlantic, who will also perform at Sasch’s in Studio City on Thursday, concluded: “I’m diving into a new market. I just hope I’m doing everything right. I’d hate to see a bunch of people come out and say, ‘What do you think you’re doing?’--especially Springsteen and his managers!”
