Effectiveness of Condoms

Thank you for the article on the very real limitations of safety in condoms. All we hear on the “safe sex” topic is that condoms are the answer to the problems. Whether they like it or not, people simply have to be told that the only 100% effective method of not contracting AIDS is abstinence. I am neither a prude nor a Puritan but I firmly believe that there is no such thing as safe sex outside of a committed monogamous relationship. If we really care about our brothers and sisters in the gay community, why aren’t we telling them the truth?
