Panama ordered the expulsion of Cable News Network’s Latin American bureau chief, who was denounced last month as a “disinformer” by the chief of Panama’s armed services. Lucia Newman, a U.S. citizen based in Panama City, said she was given no reason for the order to leave as soon as possible. She is the second foreign correspondent expelled by Panama since a wave of protests in June against the military-backed government. Tom Brown, correspondent for the British news agency Reuters, was expelled in July.
