Fundamentalist Criticizes Pope

COLLINGSWOOD, N.J. —
The Rev. Carl McIntire, a fundamentalist leader, has sent an open letter to Pope John Paul II, saying that his visit has revealed to Americans his backing of Marxist ideas and “an apostate super world church.”
McIntire, president of the International Council of Christian Churches, made up of separatist, mostly smaller denominations, says the Pope left “Bible-believing Christians better equipped to testify to lost Roman Catholics. . . . “
