Share

A Los Angeles policewoman who allegedly was slammed into a door frame by her captain as she tried to prevent him from reading a personal greeting card filed a $500,000 claim against the city on Wednesday, alleging a violation of her right to privacy.

Mary Ann Healy, an attorney for Officer Patricia Ibarra, 24, said Ibarra had to receive medical treatment as a result of her August altercation with Capt. Jerry W. Connor, commander of the 77th Street station in South-Central Los Angeles.

Connor, 49, has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a Los Angeles Police Department investigation into the incident as well as other, unrelated complaints that other officers and civilians have made against Connor.
