Israel is developing a nuclear-tipped missile known as Jericho 2, Jane’s Defense Weekly reported. In its Oct. 3 issue, the London-based magazine quotes a former Israeli Cabinet minister, who was not identified, as confirming the development of the surface-to-surface missile. The Israeli government has officially refused to confirm that the Jericho exists. Britain’s Observer newspaper reported last month the Jericho 2 flew about 600 miles when it was test-fired from Israel’s Negev Desert into the Mediterranean Sea in May.
