Setting History Straight and Relocating King Carlos III
We were shocked to read that our Los Angeles City Council is so misinformed and mislead regarding the history of Los Angeles, that they naively voted affirmatively on the motion of Alatorre and Molina! It is even more disturbing and alarming to realize the City Council acts on matters with so little knowledge or background information. This demonstration destroys more of our confidence in them and lessens their already shaky credibility. Mayor Tom Bradley is to be commended for disallowing this council action. If Alatorre and Molina presented this matter to make names for themselves, they did-- fools .
This is an insult to King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia to not want to put their gift to Los Angeles where he belongs--at the Plaza. We are members of Los Pobladores 200, descendants of the 1781 pobladores --founders of Los Angeles.
