The fall meeting of the Urban Land Institute is expected to attract more than 3,000 of the Washington-based organization’s members to Los Angeles this week.

The nonprofit group was formed in 1936 to improve the quality of land-use planning and development. Members include land developers, builders, architects, city planners, investors, planning and renewal agencies.

A 7 p.m. Wednesday reception at Citicorp Plaza will precede daily sessions Thursday through Saturday at the Westin Bonaventure and at the Sheraton Grande.
