A suspected Lebanese Shia terrorist pleaded not guilty today to additional charges of air piracy, placing a destructive device aboard an aircraft, committing violence aboard an aircraft, and aiding and abetting in connection with the 1985 hijacking and destruction of a Jordanian airliner.

At the arraignment of Fawaz Younis, federal prosecutors conceded that the defendant suffered breaks of both wrists after he was arrested last month by the FBI in the Mediterranean Sea. His lawyer said the way Younis was injured “may be a subject of some subsequent litigation.”
