Bomb Scare at Store: Westminster police briefly closed an upper-level entrance to the May Co. department store after employee Gay Parks reported her fears that a gift-wrapped package she received contained a bomb, police said. The package, however, turned out to be a pair of porcelain goblets. Police Lt. Steve Martinez said Parks told officers that a disgruntled store customer had been threatening her for the past three weeks. When someone dropped off the small package on the cosmetics counter where she worked, he said, she feared that the customer was making good on his threats. May Co. security personnel carried the package outside the store and awaited a police bomb squad. The sealed-off entrance was reopened about an hour later, police said. Neither Parks nor her supervisor would comment on the incident.
