China TV Shows Film of Downed Vietnamese Plane

BEIJING — Chinese television broadcast footage Tuesday of what it said was the wreck of a Vietnamese jet fighter shot down inside Chinese territory.
The state-run New China News Agency claimed that China shot down the MIG-21 Monday after it twice flew into Chinese airspace. It said the plane penetrated as far as 20 miles into southern China. Vietnam had no comment on the claim.
