Cyclist Brinton Wins in U.S-Soviet Race
David Brinton of North Hollywood won the points race in the USA/USSR Michelob Cycling Challenge. The event, which was held at the Olympic Velodrome at Cal State Dominguez Hills over the weekend, included the best Soviet and American cyclists.
The winner was determined by a scoring system that awarded points to the leader after each lap.
Brinton, 20, won gold and silver medals at the Pan Am games in Indianapolis this summer. He won the gold medal in the four-man team pursuit and the silver in the individual pursuit.
