British tycoon Sir Isadore (Jack) Lyons was freed on bail and ordered to return to court Nov. 3 to face nine criminal charges, including one for the theft of $5.2 million from the Guinness brewing firm. Lyons, 71, was released after posting bond totaling $412,500 and surrendering his passport. Lyons was arrested at his London home and charged with false accounting, forgery and the Guinness theft, among other alleged crimes. Lyons, knighted in 1973 by Queen Elizabeth II, was the third person arrested in the scandal that erupted this year surrounding an attempt by Guinness to acquire another company.
