Local News in Brief : ‘Chipper’ Hahn Returns

Share

Veteran Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn appeared Tuesday at his first board meeting since suffering a post-stroke seizure on Sept. 18. Hahn, 67, was greeted warmly by his four colleagues and described himself as being “chipper” because of a successful fund-raiser he held last week at the Century Plaza Hotel.

Hahn has announced that he will seek an unprecedented 10th four-year term on the board next year despite a stroke suffered last Jan. 11 that has left him partially paralyzed and absent for most of the year’s meetings.

The Los Angeles supervisor, a Democrat, represents the largely minority 2nd District, which includes the South-Central area and the cities of Culver City, Gardena, Lawndale, Hawthorne and Inglewood.
