Moscow has again rejected a U.S. suggestion that Defense Minister Dmitri T. Yazov come to the United States for consultations with Defense Secretary Caspar W. Weinberger, the Pentagon said. Weinberger, trying to break a deadlock over arrangements for such a meeting, had suggested that consultations with Yazov be held in New York if Washington was unacceptable. Weinberger has rejected a Soviet suggestion that the meeting take place in Geneva. He reportedly wants to discuss conventional forces in Europe and future arms control efforts.
